Size Required for BizTalk Backup Job ?
hi,
i trying understand , use biztalk backup job 2009 version. note, storage costs expensive, don't have storage. in current environment can see msgbox logfile hovering around 5gb , data file around 280mb.
i configured backup job , created new sp (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/982546) to remove backups, isn't critical system. reading comment in sp appears need minimum of 2 times storage backups actualy data files, 15gb. typical of other biztalk 2009 environments ?
i don't want backup or archive data biztalk, since transactional , if fails re-run process. i'm after method keep databases growing large.
thanks,
ben
comment sp here
if @daystokeep null or @daystokeep <= 0
return
/*
delete full sets
if set spans day such items fall deleted group , other doesn't, not delete set
*/
hi,
if have high throughput, size of transaction logs biztalkmsgboxdb high, , biztalkdtadb high. others small, not changes (unles using bam).
the size msgbox log backups directly proportional throughput, should run tests see how per day it's generating.
you may want evaluate lot file useage after have started backups, may able free space there.

alan
