Setting up a variant definition with a SKU


i trying create product definition sku defined within variant properties.  seems sku locked down product definition.  know create new property , treat sku variants, seems odd when go define catalog, can want variant id sku, cannot set sku assigned variant properties.  there way change base assigned product properties?

 

the sku set in schema manager name given product code, can changed.  new proprerty should created variant sku, or "assign product types" attribute should set false the productcode, @ point can reused.

Catalog Staging

when staging catalog there interruption in availability of catalog on target server?   i see reference in documentation under synchronizing web farms says: "you should synchronize web farm during off-peak hours minimize disruption in run-time operations." i don't see explanation of these disruptions or types of staging apply to. if have thousand skus need staged or more import apis don't have throttling feature blast database doing crud operations.   so means should perform staging off-peak hours don't tax database.   -max Commerce Server  >  Commerce Server 2007

How to Share webservice object to all user
