Bing Transparent Tiles


hi,

i looking @ bing map silverlight control , had question regarding transparent tiles.  found program generate 256x256 tiles .osm (containing nodes have created).  works great, looking reduce number of files had upload server strip out of transparent tiles.  noticed silverlight bing controls shows top tiles on lower level if not exist.

i wondering if there way turn off (only show tiles on bing map exist), or perhaps tilesource replace tiles didn't exist (404 - not exist error web server) local image or other predefined one?

so, want load own map , replace content bing maps platform not provide imagery.
can work zoom level in order manage tilesource (for example, show tiles when zoom level higher 17). after that, maybe using hash of tile image , compare 1 of 'no-image' hash.. it's not quite easy , i'm not sure possible.

unfortunately, don't have native solution know if tile loaded not "not available" image. maybe try using imagery service in order information local imagery.

Catalog Staging

when staging catalog there interruption in availability of catalog on target server?   i see reference in documentation under synchronizing web farms says: "you should synchronize web farm during off-peak hours minimize disruption in run-time operations." i don't see explanation of these disruptions or types of staging apply to. if have thousand skus need staged or more import apis don't have throttling feature blast database doing crud operations.   so means should perform staging off-peak hours don't tax database.   -max Commerce Server  >  Commerce Server 2007
