Issue building .net projects with VS2008

hello,

i posted this originally in wrong forum deleted , moved here think problem more vs2008 c# specific. if wrong forum please let me know.

i have issue building .net projects in vs2008. i've googled , searched forums , can find issues close not quite what's going on me. on brand new project following error.

resource file @ location specified. also, on brand new project i've done nothing try build , run windowsformsapplication. 

i've tried far - repairing vs2008, reinstalling vs2008, repairing .net 3.5, create .net project in vs2005 (this works), create c++ project in vs2008 (this works). i'm hoping simple issue not seeing.

also, when try build existing .net project following error. 

error 1  the item "" specified more once in "resources" parameter.  duplicate items not supported "resources" parameter.

when searched of forum posts had specified duplicate. in case says (the item "")  so i'm not sure need at. again it's strange appears can't vs2008.

generateresources process converts resx embeddable resource.  can take project you're trying build , place on machine , see if builds.  if machine issue.  suspect is.  alternatively create new user account , try building through new user.  if works new user on same machine settings issue.  can reset settings.
