SQL server 2005 Install Error


 

hi,

i trying install sql 2005, install goes through supposed to, when click "finish" goes off message box :

" there unexpected failiure during setup wizard. may review setup logs and/or click button more info".

the info is:

linkid: 20476

product name: ms sql server

product ver: 9.00.1399.06

message source: setup.rll

message id: 50000

evttype: setup\sqlsetupactions.cpp@invokesqlsetupdllaction@sqls::invokesqlsetupdllaction:stick out tongueerform@0x2

i running on win xp pro sp2.

i have got resolved issue.

 

at time of error, looked "add & remove programs". there i saw existence of of sql server 2000 , 2005 instance. hence, i uninstalled my sql server related instances.

 

after that, restarted system , tried installing sql server 2005. installaed successfully.

 

try above option might resolve issue.
